The World's Smartest Bike

Let’s be honest, nobody enjoys riding city hire bikes. Well, not unless aimlessly whirling your legs about to the tune of a single gear output, and resembling a moving billboard for a major corporation is your thing.

Handily, the future of city riding is here and it’s called Visiobike - a carbon-fiber e-bicycle armed with cameras and a discretely hidden motor (yes, cheating, essentially) that uses your smartphone to unlock some serious interactive potential.

The smartphone, nestled in a holster on the handlebars, acts as your interface via a special app that lets you check battery life, scan the integrated Google Maps to get anywhere in town you like, and even lock your bike with one click of the screen when you’ve dismounted.

Further reasons for its £4000 price tag include puncture proof tires, SMS notification if the bike is moved, code to lock and general GPS tracking.

And that's not all - along with a front facing camera, an additional under-the-seat camera captures live footage from behind, turning your smartphone screen into a rear-view mirror. And should the system detect a crash, it will automatically save the last three minutes of your ride, sending all your data to the Cloud.

If you want to see this dream machine arrive in a city near you sometime in August, you can donate to the brand’s Indeigogo crowd-sourcing campaign.

There’s just one downside. With a top speed of 28mph, you’ll never have an excuse for being late for work again.
