"Gosh, that's massive..."
The reaction of audiences back in 1977, during the opening seconds of Star Wars as a CR90 Corvette "veeeerroooshed" past the screen, surrounded by laser fire.
What followed was met with a dropping of popcorn and jaws, as a Star Destroyer menaced into view. And kept on menacing. For a full 14 seconds, it just kept coming.
Star Wars redefined the scale of cinema, blending camera trickery with miniature models and vast sets. It created a world that clearly left an impression on artist Scott Park, who's illustrated all of the vehicles featured in the original trilogy - listing them to scale in this new video.
If you're a fan of Park's work, you can pick up a poster of the vehicles here.
