It seems that big explosions and ridiculous guns aren't enough to keep gamers entertained these days. They need characters, story-driven action, a narrative capable of rivalling an HBO thriller. Watch_Dogs appears more than happy to oblige.

This latest trailer for the hotly anticipated hacker adventure game introduces us to the main players of its cast - both friend and foe.

The usual hardened street talking criminals, tattoo-covered badasses and wizened villains-turned-allies are all in attendance, but the animated performances are reassuringly captivating. We've only got a few more weeks to find out if Watch_Dogs can live up to our towering expectations, but things are shaping up nicely.

Watch_Dogs is released on 27 May
