From MicroLeague to SmackDownSuperstars to Raw, the list of WWE video game adaptations holds as many champions and crowd pleasers as the average lineup of WrestleMania. Since 1989, consoles and arcades the world over have been treated the unique blend of WWE's action and drama, making it one of the longest-running and most successful multifaceted franchises in gaming history.

The upcoming WWE 2k15 marks the series' first release on the latest crop of consoles, featuring historical showdowns and the most detailed career mode of the series. Having finally dragged our eyes off the latest glistening game trailer, we set about compiling a quiz to test the keenest of WWE fans.

From video game trivia to essential wrestling facts, you're going to need to know your McMahon from your Mankind.

WWE 2k15 arrives on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on 31 October and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 21 November
