Nerd central Comic-Con was the site of the launch of a Star Wars branded Xbox Kinect.

Those that worship at the throne of Jabba can cradle a C-3PO inspired controller hooked up to an R2-D2 style console while playng the brand-new Podracing mode featured in the upcoming title Kinect Star Wars. Turn it on and it makes R2's trademark beep.

Podracing mode allows fans a chance to compete alongside the surviving racers of the Boonta Eve in recognisable pods. If it works it's brilliant, but we fear it'll fall short.

It's already available now for pre-order through participating retailers. Footage of the game below, but Podracer footage still to come...
