Konami is grabbing a lot of headlines of late.
On 18 September, French gaming site Gameblog reported that Konami was to stop producing major console games (apart from football-staple PES), with worldwide technology director Julien Merceron stepping down.
Fans cried, gaming journalists speculated and everything seemed grim.
Yet no one at Konami appeared to have got the memo, with EU communications manager Su-Yina Farmer taking to Twitter to express the following...
I hope re-purposing speculation and rumour as news, isn't the new standard— Su (@ParodiSu) September 18, 2015
The rumours of Konami's death were made to look even more exaggerated when one customer took to Reddit to share a response from the gaming group's customer support:
We’re still definitely working on console games and franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, PES and all the rest.
With Konami set to stay put (fingers crossed), we thought we'd take this moment to reflect on the greatest titles the Japanese games group has given us over the years.
From arcade classics to console gems, here's to another 46 years of Konami.
