You can uncross your fingers - GTA V is coming to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sooner than you thought. On 18 November, to be exact.

After months of speculation and winks, Rockstar Games has announced that the latest instalment of its genre defining/record breaking/hyperbole collecting series has been polished and tweaked for the latest generation of consoles. A PC release has also been confirmed for 27 January 2015.

In addition to the expected graphic improvements (increased draw distances, higher resolution and the like), the new edition will ship with some new extras. These include: additional wildlife, denser traffic, a new foliage system (MORE LEAVES!), enhanced weather effects (BETTER RAIN!) and - more importantly - new weapons, vehicles and activities. The latest version will also feature enhanced radio selections with over 100 additional new songs and new DJ mixes.

There are some nice incentives for returning fans who've already played GTA V on their PS3/Xbox 360: in addition to netting $100,000 of in-game cash for pre-ordering and being able to transfer existing game files, faithful fans can gain access to rare versions of classic vehicles, such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a faster, more maneuverable Blimp.

Convinced? Then we'll see you on the shiner, better-looking streets come November. Check out the enhanced game in action below.
