Epic Witcher 3 Opening Lands

How's the end of February 2015 looking for you? Pretty quiet? Good - best keep it that way.

On 24 February 2015, the next chapter of The Witcher series will arrive in a flurry of smoke and pain - set to consume your every waking moment. Promising an open world bigger than just about any other RPG you've ever played, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be beautiful and horrifying in equal amounts.

The following trailer, entitled 'The Trail', follows Geralt of Rivia on his pursuit of a dark force (his ex-lover, Yennefer of Vengerberg) across the war-torn lands of Temeria. Before you settle down for a taste of things to come, please be aware that the following video contains some pretty graphic scenes of violence. There are some horses that don't do too well, and a pretty unfortunate incident involving a bird.

If you're still up for it, prepare to watch one of the most gripping video game trailers of the year.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 24 February 2015
