Epic Ryse: Son of Rome launch trailer

If we were betting types (which we aren't), we'd place a fairly hefty some of money (which we don't have) on the good people of Crytek studios being fond of Ridley Scott's Gladiator. The latest trailer for their Xbox One exclusive Ryse: Son of Rome would appear to be the most adoring video game love letter to the film we've ever seen.

Ryse lets players take control of Marius as he leads Rome's legions against a barbarian army that threatens the ancient empire. We got our hands on an early playthrough of the game's Colosseum multiplayer and found the experience delightfully gory. As the trailer attests, Ryse is shaping up to bring slow-motion death by the bucketload.
