In space, no one can hear you scream - a maxim set to regain its terror, as the xenomorph returns from the depths of space to haunt a new generation of Alien fans.

Set 15 years after her mother's encounter with the stomach-churning nasty, Alien: Isolation follows the story of Amanda Ripley in her mission to find the flight recorder of the Nostromo, the stricken vessel of Ridley Scott's original horror, and discover what happened to her mother all those years ago.

Set aboard the corridors and pipes of the decommissioned space station Sevastopol, things soon go wrong for Ripley (must run in the family), forcing her to scavenge old equipment together in the hope of living long enough to get some answers.

If you were a fan of Scott's seminal sci-fi or get a kick from sneaking around shadowy spaceships, you're going to love this game.

Alien: Isolation arrives on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One on 7 October
