Steve Jobs Tributes

Last night, the co-founder of Apple and former chief executive Steve Jobs passed away. You may know him better as the guy who pretty much changed the way you use technology. He also co-founded Pixar, meaning you also have him to thank for pretty much every animated film worth seeing in the past 16 years.

His death has had an understandably profound effect on the digital world, yes even to people who still call themselves PCs, and we've assembled some of the finest tributes.

A collage of Apple products make up Steve Jobs...

Designer Jonathan Mak creates this...

"He changed the way each of us sees the world"

- Barack Obama

This iPhone screen shot is built...

"He was one of the great architects of the real."

- Salman Rushdie

Apple.com's homepage...

“Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world. I will miss you.”

- Mark Zuckerberg

Google's understated tribute...

The Twitter community doffs their collective cap:

Every magazine cover he's ever been on is compiled. Including TIME Magazine 8 times! Click image...

And the most recent one!

"Steve Jobs was the greatest inventor since Thomas Edison. He put the world at our fingertips."

- Steven Spielberg

Boing Boing changed their entire layout. Well worth stopping by with them to see it...

The 1 minute 'Sleep For Steve' idea is born. Don't take it literally.

Bill Gates reaction...

And the last of a great meme...
