This might be why your iPhone 6S battery keeps dying

Ever found that those final few percentages of your iPhone battery life seem to wilt alarmingly quickly? That your last 20 per cent of juice is a heck of a lot less juicy than the first 80?

This might be why.

Apple has acknowledged that anyone who sets the time on their phone manually, or regularly changes time zones, might find that their battery percentage monitor isn't very accurate.

Somehow, a bug has snuck into the iOS that doesn't calibrate for jumps in time, screwing with the iPhone's ability to predict how much useful charge is left in its battery levels.

To fix the issue, try the following options:

  • Restart your iPhone (well... duh?)
  • Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that Set Automatically is turned on

And if that still doesn't work, you might need to book yourself a trip to the Apple store to ask one of their guys something you already know: "Yeah... you're just going to need a new phone".
