Polaroid Launches the Mini-Mobile Printer
22 April 2015

Sometimes squinting at a smartphone display - no matter how retina-enabled it is - just doesn't do justice to a photograph. But at the same time, who can be bothered to wait to download an image and print it out on your home printer?

To solve this problem, Polaroid have launched Zip, an instant mobile printer the size of a phone, which can wirelessly print photos in under a minute.

It uses ZINK (zero ink) paper that doesn't rely on ink and toner, but rather has dye crystals which are activated by the Zip. The prints are two- by three-inches and full colour, while the device pairs with an app (available for iOS and Android) that can be used to edit photos add text, or even add QR codes. The Zip weighs 186g (around the same as an iPhone 6 Plus), charges via mini USB and can print 25 photos on a full charge.

So next time you take that selfie with a star, print it out and get it signed, for the ultimate personalised memento.

You can preorder now at polaroid.com for $129.99 (£86.46) - shipping is due to begin on 1 May.
