Man invents bottle closer-upper

Invention says 'Do one' to flat beer

Man invents bottle closer-upper
18 September 2011

It’s officially a godsend for the less thirsty among us.

Picture it: you’ve opened a beer. Or maybe even a cider. Then you think, ‘hang on, I’m not sure I’m in this for the long haul. I just wasn’t expecting this level of commitment. Damn, this sweet beverage is going to go flat by the time I’m feeling thirsty again, which could, realistically, be hours from now. Christ, it could even be overnight’.

Well, it’s time to stop talking to yourself and get one of these here deelies. It closes bottles up.

Yes, it’s a bottle closer-upper by any other name (its other name being the Hermetus Bottle Opener & Resealer), and it’s made in Germany.

It basically means that that the boozy contents of the bottle you’ve just opened but decided not to drink can be saved from that inexorable journey down the plug hole. Wallop.

You can buy your own here.
