Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 review

Our intrigue for Lenovo’s new prescription drug for extra-supple joints took a hit when a large parcel containing a 10-inch Android tablet arrived. Easy mistake, no?

Good: Great battery, nice design

Bad: Nothing close to HD screen

Price: £249.99

You know what tablets look like: thin all over, a gentle curve on the back and a bit of glass on the front. Lenovo have taken a very different tack with their Yoga Tablet, a cylindrical kickstand running along its lower edge.

As well as fitting snuggly in the hand, this bulbous addition sneaks some neat tricks into an otherwise familiar tablet case: the battery is startlingly impressive, happily passing 15 hours of use on one charge. The elevated edge also allows the screen to tilt toward you when placed on a flat or lap-shaped surface, while the roll out kickstand angles the whole tablet at the perfect angle for watching media. Just don’t type too hard while it’s upright.

One aspect wherein the Lenovo hints at its meagre price tag is in the quality of the screen. Anyone used to an HD smartphone or laptop experience will notice that colours appear washed out, and while the Android OS provides heaps of apps, the customisation is a little lacklustre.

The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 is a plucky contender in a crowded tablet market. It’s a lovely piece of design and certainly worth considering if you’re looking to spend under £300 on a durable tablet – there’s also an 8-inch version for £199.
