Awesome Autonomous Aerial Camera

Drones, for the large part, are terrifying visions of the inevitable end that humanity will face at the hands of our robotic creations. Every once in a while, they're also the coolest, most innovative of gadgets, that make you marvel at the achievements of tech. HEXO+ is very much the latter (unless you're an action camera professional - in which case, best start looking for a new job).

This little hexacopter (it's got six rota blades) is your very own personal aerial camera man that will follow you no matter what sort of sweat-inducing activity you're throwing yourself into - surfing, snowboarding, running or just having a quiet stroll round the park.

A GoPro camera sits under the body of the drone, which is controlled entirely by an app on your phone. Tell the HEXO+ the angle, distance and panning you want it to shoot, hit start and clap your hands like an excitable child as the drone takes off automatically and hovers over you. Check out the video below to see the incredible footage it can take.

Currently looking for funding on Kickstarter, you can order a GoPro-less HEXO+ for around £350 ($599) or a camera-wielding version for £470 ($799). We're off to learn the easiest extreme sport, just to warrant buying one.
