The next generation of electric car

The eagerly anticipated new Nissan LEAF has launched in Europe, offering a class-leading 250km of range.
Nissan’s 100 percent electric LEAF is already the best-selling electric car in the world, and now the new 2016 Nissan LEAF 30 kWh sets the bar even higher, combining cutting edge technology with ecological savvy to offer a new battery alongside a raft of technology updates.

The innovative battery technology boasts a 26 per cent increase in LEAF driving range (a class-leading 250km), surpassing all competitors without compromising on practicality. So long, gas guzzling cars of the past.

Fans of cutting edge in-car entertainment will enjoy the introduction of the NissanConnect EV infotainment system, featuring a new interface, DAB digital radio and seven-inch touchscreen display. It also carries an improved remote defrost feature, designed to make early morning winter journeys a more pleasant experience for LEAF owners.

Boasting the sort of eye-watering innovation that makes you feel like you’re embracing a brave new world, this feels like a major breakthrough in automotive engineering.

To celebrate the new LEAF, Nissan has even created a short film to reflect the new updates:
