The Nike Elastico Superfly IC SE

Ten years ago, the idea of a high-end 5-a-side game involved using a pair of trainers that weren't falling apart and attempting not to rip all of the skin off your legs if playing on astroturf.

But things have moved on substantially since then, as the new Nike Elastico Superfly IC SE demonstrates. It's designed specifically for indoor surfaces, with a low profile outsole to bring the foot closer to the ground and features a shimmer effect previously seen on the Mercurial Superfly CR7 - which will make sure the opposition know you mean business.

The microtextured upper combines Flyknit, Nikeskin and All Conditions Control, which should ensure that it feels you're almost playing barefoot. In fact, if it got any closer to that, you wouldn't need to buy any boots at all, so they've probably stopped at just the right point, commercially speaking.

You can pick up a pair from the Nike store for £140.
