Is This The Greatest Running Shoe Ever?

Adidas has unveiled what they're proclaiming as 'the greatest running shoe ever'.

The Ultra BOOST trainer has been endorsed by Jamaican Olympic silver medalist sprinter Yohan Blake, as well as reigning London and New York marathon winner Wilson Kipsang, who both attended an event on New York's Wall Street to mark the launch.

It promises to be the first shoe to fully use all the benefits of the company's BOOST foam (developed using the ARAMIS crash test and vibration analysis system used by NASA and Boeing); indeed the midsole is made of 100% of the stuff (whereas the Energy BOOST has a measly 80%). Thus, it offers unrivalled energy return as well as comfort through use over hundreds of kilometres, in virtually any environment.

Adidas executive board member Eric Liedtke, somewhat underplaying the product, commented, “To answer the world’s athletes’ call for more Energy we aimed to create the greatest running shoe ever and we’ve done exactly that with Ultra BOOST."

If it can get us round the park without passing out then we'll call it the greatest shoe ever OK?

The Ultra BOOST will be available for £130 from adidas.co.uk from February 11th.
