Prada's Hawaiian Print Case

prada-bag.png

Miuccia Prada’s menacing twist on paradise, as was the theme for her spring 2014 menswear collection, has filtered through to her resort collection of bags.

Polynesian and Hawaiian floral motives feature heavily in the printed fabrics and saffiano leather accessories, as does an overcast colour palette of mango, teal blue and garnet. Tropical cliches, such as sunsets, palm trees and hula girls are juxtaposed with images of the Vietnam War, the attack on Pearl Harbor and other painful events from modern American history. The standout piece in the collection (think Frank Sinatra and Burt Lancaster in From Here To Eternity) is this retro-inspired canvas case.

Canvas case £1,430 and blue saffiano leaf luggage tag £130; prada.com
