Cast your mind back to April this year. It was the month Thor stormed the UK box office, the Alternative Vote divided the House Of Commons and Pippa Middleton’s derrière conquered the front pages. It was also when ShortList first told you of an exciting venture from Fred Perry.

‘Friends Of Fred’ saw the iconic label offering customers complete outfits (rather than just individual pieces) by asking other respected brands to contribute items that complemented its own range.

After the (entirely predictable) popularity of this concept, Fred has decided to re-consult his contact book for a second time.

The original idea was to seek inspiration from the iconic subcultures known for wearing Fred Perry. Since tennis players aren’t renowned for their sartorial elegance, however, the label has opted to pay tribute to the more stylish mods instead. Alongside the usual range of polo shirts, you’ll find a selection of other garments to complete your look.

Having provided the immaculate Sta-Prest trousers for the first ‘Friends Of Fred’ project, Levi’s returns to the fold, this time bearing indigo-tinted 1967 505 jeans and stone-coloured Sta-Prest corduroys (£140). Fred has invited some new friends too. Luxury knitwear specialist John Smedley supplies a chunky, merino wool Dorset sweater (£135), and Yorkshire brand Alfred Sargent offers its take on the classic Chukka boot (£250). There’s also a smart wool Kadet coat by Garbstore of Portobello (£325).
