A visual history of Prince’s hair from 1978 to 2013

The world was shocked when the legendary musician and entertainer Prince passed away on 21 April, before sadness quickly turned to celebrating his incredible work and career.

Throughout his life, it was hard not to be impressed by his evolving style - and the way he was always a chameleon when it came to his hair, indulging in a whole host of eclectic styles.

These were documented in stunning fashion by designer and illustrator (and Lady Gaga collaborator no less) Gary Card back in 2014. He created these incredible images of every Prince hairstyle from his beginnings in 1978 right through to his final styles - and, unsurprisingly, they're doing the rounds on the internet once again.

Originally appearing in The Beat Juice magazine, you can see them all below, individually, and as one almighty gif.

Be sure to follow Gary on Instagram for more brilliant design work.
