The Unbreakable Sunglasses

The crushing inevitability of, well, crushing your sunglasses as you sit down on top of yet another pair is one of life's biggest annoyances.

But these new designs by Italia Independent claim to be able to put a stop to that. The I-Ultra sunglasses (expect a lawsuit from Apple soon) are made of stiff rubber - specifically a type of ultra-light material that has never been used for eyewear before, they claim - meaning that they are practically unbreakable. We assume they've utilised the technology from those shatter-proof rulers we had at school.

Unfortunately the lenses are still made of glass, so they could break but we applaud the effort to try and solve this burning issue. They come in a range of ten different colours, and cost £98.

We'll probably end up dropping them in a fire so they melt instead.
