The £27,000 sunglasses

Are your eyes worth it?

The £27,000 sunglasses
01 September 2011

As a rule, we tend not to fork out large amounts of money on anything that is often housed in our back pocket and is therefore in danger of being sat on at any given moment.

So, when it comes to sunglasses, we have our limits. These might not be for us then...

Created by Bentley and probably designed for those who can already afford to be driving one, the Bentley x Estede glasses are a specialist purchase for those who want only the very best for their eyes. Available in 18ct solid gold, silver palladium or platinum, each pair is understandably made to order.

The sunglasses start at $11,000 (£6,783) and go up to $45,000 (£27,750) for the platinum pair. The reason for the price? Other than the gold and platinum? Well, they all have polarised lenses, hand-polished enamel coating, engraved surfaces and only 100 will be made of each style. Yeah, ermmm, we're not convinced still...
