Viewers spot crucial new Making a Murderer evidence that could change everything

Scrutineering fans of Making a Murderer have discovered new evidence which could lend weight to Steven Avery’s bid for freedom.

Teresa Halbach’s infamous car key, found by police in Avery’s bedroom under suspicious circumstances, proved crucial in the case against Steven – despite the fact that it contained zero Avery DNA.

But eagle-eyed viewers have spied an inconsistency. In the photo below (shown numerous times throughout the series), Theresa Halbach is holding an assortment of keys, rather than just the one.

Viewers argue that it would be strange for Theresa to carry a single key on the day of the murder – lending weight to the theory that the prosecuter's evidence was planted by the police department.

It’s not the first time that eagle-eyed sleuths have got one over on the Netflix-famous defence team. Subreddit r/makingamurderer is packed out with different clues and theories. Avery's lawyer Jerry Buting told Rolling Stone

"Dean Strang and I are only two minds. What I’m discovering is that a million minds are better than two. Some of these people online have found things with a screen shot of a picture that we missed."

According to Buting, the new evidence could be submitted if Avery's appeal moves forward.

Which is all well and good, but we can't help feeling that everyone is ignoring the real mystery here, which is: why the hell doesn't Steven Avery wear pants?
