This simple maths problem is baffling the internet; can you solve it?

1.jpg

Considering we all spent so much of our schoolboys desperately hoping our Maths lessons would end, it's really quite surprising how keen we all are on doing maths problems during our spare time (okay, okay, your work time) on the internet.

And this is the latest brainteaser to be befuddling the web right now:

Maths Question

Can you work out what's going on? You'll either see it straight away, or you'll be banging your head against a metaphorical brick wall for ages.

Have a think, and when you want to check whether you've worked it out, scroll down and find out.

The digits on the right-hand side of the 'equals' sign, in order, show the two digits to the left of the 'equals' sign multiplied together, then added together, then subtracted.

For example: 8 + 2 = 16106

8 x 2 = 16
8 + 2 = 10
8 - 2 = 6

So now you know.
