The woman who gets your mis-texts

womantext.jpg

Sending a text to the wrong person is one of the worst things that can happen to someone who doesn't really have any actual problems in their life.

In the US, there's an odd quirk in network provider Verizon's system. If you type in the name Leila and auto-fill doesn't kick in, your text will strangely end up in the hands of Leila Sales, a novelist living in Brooklyn. It happens because Verizon made her leila@vtext.com so she gets around five mis-texts a day.

Being creative, she keeps a blog of her favourites. Here are some of the best:

"this is gonna sound terrible, but would u do what we did last night with someone while we were together? cause even if we didnt kiss u know we did stuff"

"My lips are still so refreshed!!!"

"Ugly"

"I am cold seventy percent of the time"

"U an hidie have fun an sorry for all that dromma i put in your an hidies life plz tell her i said that :)guhh plzz :)"

"Happy Birthday to my bestie! Love you girl! Out last year in our 20's live it up and have fun you single sexy bitch:)"

"Silver city ice cream shop. At night they have bears in their dumpsters. Do not get out of your cars."

"Hey how are u. Pandas are my life! Jenny"

"Im not arguing anymore its not worth it only u kno the truth hav fun c u wen u get home" (wins the award for most passive aggressive text ever)

"You still have my slushie straw right?"

"Mammogram was good:)"

"Omg leila. the guy who owns alaska is selling it on craigslist. i've ALWAYS wanted alaska!"

You can find plenty more here.
