WHO KILLED TUPAC?

WHO KILLED BIGGIE SIX MONTHS LATER?

WHY IS THIS WORLD SO UNFAIR, WILL WE EVER SEE THEIR LIKES AGAIN?

Probably not, but we can delve into their still unsolved murders in a new TV series called Unsolved: The Murders of Biggie and Tupac.

The show was picked up late last year and is based on the book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations, written by LAPD Detective Greg Kading, who led multiple law-enforcement task forces investigating the murders.

In line with the book, the series will follow the perspective of law enforcement trying to find answers, with Kading as an executive producer to maintain authenticity.

Off the back of his Emmy-winning The People v. O.J. Simpson  true crime drama success, director Anthony Hemingway will be taking the wheel to direct and produce the show.

It’s also got some big names on board already. Josh Duhamel (Transformers) will star as Kading, while Jimmi Simpson (Westworld, House of Cardswill portray Detective Russell Poole who, in 1997, investigated the murder of Biggie and became convinced the LAPD was covering something up. Poole’s findings are what led Biggie’s mum to open a lawsuit against the department.

Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) has been cast as Officer Daryn Dupree, whose in-depth knowledge of gangs and the LA rap scene proved invaluable.

And as for the legends themselves?

Marcc Jones will channel Tupac, having already played him in Straight Outta Compton while newcomer Wavvy Jones will play East Coast king Biggie.

Jones was found in a nationwide casting call and is a self-described “fat kid from Long Island”:

So far, there are no details on a premiere date, but it looks like we can expect big(gie) things.
