You’ve got to hand it to Roy Hodgson and the England team. Their baggage, that is.

Sparing fans the familiar heartbreak of exiting a major tournament on penalties, the Three Lions surpassed even themselves in terms of international embarrassment last night, losing to minnows Iceland by two goals to one and putting in arguably the worst performance of the past few decades to ensure they get home even earlier than anticipated.

But as Roy got about tendering his resignation and his coaching team went looking for Harry Kane, last seen in the Nice area at 9pm local time, the best place for analysis for fans wasn’t a TV studio but Twitter, where once again there were a few laughs, a few tears, and uncontrollable sobbing.
