Designed by David Burton, senior systems engineer, BAE Systems

You can find more planes here.

Design: “Because it’s an unmanned aircraft I decided to base it on a reconnaissance plane. It’s a simplistic design, but I didn’t see the need in overdoing it for any reason.”

Attributes: “The large wings are great for distance flying. The nose of the plane goes to a nice point, which is good for aerodynamic reasons [a pointed nose means it can go faster because this lessens the drag]. One great feature is that when you’re tracing line nine, you can vary the angle of it, so that gives different properties each time."

ShortList test flight result: It’s a complex folding job, but if you get it right, it soars.

Style: “When you go into areas where you don’t want the enemy to see you then stealth properties are crucial, and this is where the clouds came in. Perhaps somebody will look up and see clouds but not necessarily see the aircraft.”

You'll need to cut off the white trimmings from the outside of this design
