The Evolution of the Desk

The computer has evolved at such a constant and stunning pace, that sometimes we don't appreciate just how much it has changed everything.

And one of the things it has changed completely is the humble working desk. Once a place with a plethora of tools, aids and general bits and bobs, it has now been streamlined to an astonishing degree, as the computer has subsumed all the things it once did.

In layman's terms, essentially the computer has swallowed up everything in its path - and you can see exactly how it's done it by watching this excellent short visual, put together by a team at the Harvard Innovation Lab. Now, if it could make tea too, then we literally wouldn't need anything else.
