The Apple Pie Pizza

Where we come from nothing is more likely to cause a wild rumpus than what is acceptable to place atop a pizza. But then we’ve just spent a week in the badlands of Frascati just outside Rome, so we’re practically Italian.

So, imagine the heated debates that were had when we cast our eyes upon this apple pie pizza.

Apple pie pizza, what heathen madness is this gasped a few purists, while others, certainly taking a more Joey Tribbiani approach to food (apple? Good; pizza? Good etc), howled in delight.

So, to applaud this concoction of, deep breath now, caramelised apple compote and pieces of cooked apple on top of a layer of custard with a sprinkle of cinnamon dust on a sweet pizza base, topped off with a scoop of homemade vanilla gelato?

Guess we’re gonna have to pop over to the Bunga Bunga restaurant in London’s Battersea and taste it for ourselves. Unless they want to send some over of course...
