Street art with a twist

So it seems lately that Banksy had better start watching his back. The inarguable poster boy for street art has a number of pretenders to the throne and some of them are pretty peeved.

While we're clearly fans of the mysterious Bristolian, it looks like we might have a new favourite on the scene. The Spanish street artist, known as Spy, specialises in "interventional" pieces which are all about subverting the expected.

So he'll turn a half pipe into a football pitch, train a CCTV camera on a pile of bricks and replace a public telephone with a banana. In other words, he's an extremely refined prankster.

You can check out more of his work here.
