Strangely Compelling Supercut of Tarantino Profile Shots

Quentin Tarantino’s characters are some of the most memorable in film history. They’re vividly drawn archetypes that become part of the culture as soon as they appear on screen.

One of the main reasons why his characters are so compelling is that he doesn’t reveal everything about them. They remain slightly ambiguous.  And one of the most effective ways for a film maker to do this is the profile shot, which Tarantino uses a lot. It prevents eye contact and makes it harder for the viewer to assess the character’s intentions or emotions.

Rishi Kaneria has assembled nearly all the profile shots from Tarantino’s films into one strangely compelling super-cut with a soundtrack borrowed from Whiplash. Can you spot them all?
