"D'ya like reemaeks?"

"Reemaeks?"

"Yeah, reemaeks? D'ya like reemaeks?"

"Oh, remakes. Sure, I like reemaeks."

Yep, Guy Ritchie's 2000 geezer classic Snatch is getting its own small screen serial adaptation at the hands of US streaming service Crackle

Split into ten one-hour episodes, Crackle suggests that the remake will follow in the vein of similar adaptations such as the hugely popular Fargo.

"Crackle will carry the spirit of the setting in the original feature film, while creating a new world born from the original movie," reads the synopsis, reported by Screen Rush. "Informed by a real life gold bullion heist in London, the show centers on a group of twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend."

That's a Snatch, Crackle and plot we can get behind.

No details have been issued on who will be handling the script (Guy Ritchie wrote the original screenplay) or directing duties, nor what form the cast will take. Given that Sony pulled the Crackle service from the UK market, it's also yet to be seen as to whether the group might sell distribution rights to another streaming service.

So long as they don't fudge the original work's cutting dark humour, we're quids in.
