Are you the kind of person who enjoys the occasional blue movie? Do you enjoy it so much that easily accessible porn just isn’t enough, tending to just download the stuff you want directly, using torrents?

Then you could soon find yourself facing the long, strong arm of the law.

Sky’s website has just issued a letter warning it’s customers that if they’re illegally downloading pornographic material they could find themselves charged with hefty fines.

The move comes after US adult entertainment company, Golden Eye International has demanded damages for porn downloaded through dodgy torrent websites.

According to the pornography company, the cost of such damages will likely ‘depend on the extent to which you have downloaded the work and/or made it available for download by other.’

Speaking to Metro, a Sky spokesperson said:

‘Golden Eye successfully applied for a court order against Sky. This means that we were required, by law, to supply Golden Eye with the details of account holders that matched the list of IP addresses that they had identified.

‘We have written to all affected customers advising them carefully to read the letter from Golden Eye and if they want any further help to contact the Citizens Advice Bureau.’

Here's hoping you don't get receive any legal warnings in amongst the Christmas cards this festive season.
