A real motherf*cking snake was just found on a real motherf*cking plane

Snake on a plane.jpg

The thing about the Samuel L. Jackson classic Snakes on a Plane, its defining characteristic, is that it’s utterly ludicrous. There’s no way any mother-effing snakes would get on a mother-effing plane in real life.

Except, it totally did just happen on a commercial flight in Mexico, as a three-foot snake slithered its way out from behind the overhead luggage compartment, dangled there a bit, then dropped down into the cabin.

The Aeromexico flight got priority landing and touched down 10 minutes later in Mexico City, where animal control workers came on board to capture the surprise passenger (or passssssssssenger, as the snake would probably say).

Fellow passenger Indalecio Medina managed to catch some of the incident on his phone:

“I was reading a magazine and the passenger next to me saw it and, ‘Oh my word!’, he told Associated Press. "It was a frightening situation ... but people remained calm because it didn't get out of that space and nobody became hysterical."

Which is easy for him to say. We’re pretty sure we’d have spilled our complimentary nuts all over the place, leapt out of our seat and charged towards the exit in blind panic.

While the incident does bear some resemblance to the film Snakes on a Place – the fact there’s a snake on a plane, for starters – there’s still no word on whether, like the film, the snake was placed there by a mob boss as an elaborate plan to assassinate an FBI witness. Or maybe it just slithered on of its own accord.

Either way, let’s hope the closest thing we get to this in the UK are snaking Easyjet queues.
