Pigeon Backflips to Avoid GP2 Car

We all know that pigeons are sensationally good at avoiding threats and navigating tight spaces, but very few do it with the sheer style of this fellow.

This incredible footage, captured from a practice session in advance of this Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix, shows a pigeon narrowly avoiding a sticky end by deftly executing a backflip at the very last moment to manoeuvre out of danger.

Sadly the pictures don't show the pigeon's reaction, post-landing, to his dice with death; being continental he probably just ruffled up his feathers and nonchalantly strutted away. What an absolute hero.
