Offbeat skyline pictures

While we do love an impressive skyline, their overuse in hotel lobbies, screensavers, calendars and student bedrooms have often made us feel a bit immune to their photographic charms.

Which may be one of the main reasons why we're so drooly over these illustrations. Atelier Olschinsky, an Austrian design studio, has created a collection of skylines that look like nothing we've seen before.

The images give a futuristic spin to many of our cities while highlighting their architectural similarities.

You can see more of them here and from next week, you'll be able to buy one for your own place. It's well and truly time to take that black and white New York poster down. Sorry but everyone thinks it.
