According to police, you’ll want to avoid these stations when the Night Tube kicks off

If you’re worried about increased crime when the Night Tube finally launches, there’s a handful of stations that you’d do well to avoid, according to a report published today.

The London Assembly’s Police and Crime Committee, who produced the report, have marked the areas as “red stations” so that extra patrols may take place when the twilight service gets going.

The stations, 12 in total, are as follows: Camden Town, London Bridge, North Greenwich, Vauxhall, Brixton, Waterloo, Oxford Circus, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross, Victoria and Hammersmith

The report aligns with the TFL prediction that anti-social behaviour will rise, causing higher crime levels, despite the London Met Police claiming that levels of crime would not change. The British Transport Police are working to hire extra staff for the necessary 24 hour patrols.

The Night Tube, which was repeatedly delayed owing to union disputes over pay, working hours and repeated strikes across the Tube network, is getting closer to opening as union bosses agreed terms only last week.

The service will only run at weekends and across certain parts of the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines. For more info on where to catch a Night Tube, head to the TFL website.
