Nick Clegg's Autotune Apology To Be Released

CleggHERO.jpg

We're sure when Nick Clegg was young, he really wanted to be a pop star - but this probably wasn't what he had in mind.

A remixed version of the embattled Liberal Democrat's apology for broken election promises has gone viral and is now set to be released as a charity single, in a story straight out of The Thick Of It.

Two writers for website The Poke, Alex Ross and James Herring, created the track using video footage taken from YouTube and processed Clegg's speech to create a melodic version with full musical backing; it's since been a trending topic on Twitter and garnered huge attention.

The Poke contacted the Deputy Prime Minister via Twitter to ask if the video could be released on iTunes, and Clegg responded positively, saying "Permission granted, but all proceeds to Sheffield Children's Hospital please".

No doubt Cameron and Miliband will be eagerly awaiting to see what treatment their next speeches are given to see if they can become The Stones and Beach Boys to Clegg's Beatles.
