Minimalist stateside maps

It can be all too easy to criticise escalator-blocking tourists from US of A. "Only a third of them have passports", we scoff with assumed European worldliness.

But then how well do we know their dream-forged nation? Could we pin Bridgeport or Waterbury on a Connecticut state map? Most probably not. Which is why we're considering purchasing some of these splendid Stateside Maps from These Are Things.

All 50 states have received the minimalist design treatment, pinning the major cities of each to an angular representation of their geography. Also, can anyone tell us why Wisconsin is known as the Badger State?
