Sure the headlines will be about Spain's thrilling penalty shootout win over Portugal that saw the reigning World and European champs through to the final of Euro 2012, but the real human story happened in the stands post-game.

This crestfallen Portuguese supporter sat dejected in the Donetsk stadium long after his fellow fans has cleared the building, to come to terms with his side's tournament bow out.

Alas, his comedy hat didn't quite fit the sombre moment.
