IKEA Instruction Manuals For Horror Characters

What do you look forward to purchasing on a trip to IKEA: flat-pack furniture? Meatballs for lunch? The pin-headed monster from Hellraiser?

If one of these sounds worryingly out of place in relation to the famous Swedish interior furnishings store, you clearly haven’t been keeping up to date with the work of Ed Harrington, a designer whose latest project uses IKEA-like illustrations to de-layer horror characters.

Other figures to get this treatment include machete-happy Jason Voorhees, gothic recluse Edward Scissorhands and freaky Brundlefly, each getting their own instruction book which describes exactly what parts are needed for assembly.

We can only imagine how Dr Frankenstein would've benefited from an IKEA such as this back in his day.
