If The John Lewis Advert Were a Horror Trailer

It's been all over the internet: the official sign that Christmas is coming. Yes, the cutesy, feel-good John Lewis advert has arrived, depicting a harmless, friendly penguin and a sweet young boy.

But it seems that old Monty has a darker side to him (besides the £95 price tag for a toy replica). Behind that furry exterior lurks some secrets, with his menacing eyes revealing the tortured soul that lies beneath.

Video editor Jon Harvey has recut the advert with audio from horror movie The Bababook, with spectacular results. Watch below, and Christmas will never be the same again.
