Writing a hit Halloween song is the second-most lucrative thing you can do, after coming up with a Christmas classic to join Noddy Holder and the gang.

Every October, it'll get wheeled out again and, while it'll never beat Thriller, a ghosts and ghouls track is always welcome. Which is why it's very handy that comedian Brett Domino has come up with this indispensable video guide to writing your very own Halloween hit.

Pipe organ and spoken word is the order of the day - plus a few other vital ingredients which he explains. Chuck it all in the musical cauldron, add a bit of toil and trouble, leave to boil, then serve for spooktacular results.

Watch below and we'll see you on the hit parade.
