As Flight of the Conchords famously satirised, New Zealand has spent the last ten years trying to tell everyone that there is more to their country than just Lord of the Rings.

However, they've clearly just decided to give up and embrace it, as this brilliant flight safety video for Air New Zealand demonstrates. Featuring a host of Hobbit characters and a cameo from none other than Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit director Peter Jackson, it's certainly more entertaining than the usual ones; watch below and see what you think.

All aboard for Middle Earth!
