What is believed to be the first ever town-centre sheep racing competition in Scotland has been held.

Moffat staged the event on the high street in what organisers hope will become an annual competition.

Six heats were ran and the winner of each heat went into the final, the winner taking the overall title.

The sheep raced with dummy jockeys made of wool and negotiated a series of hurdles while the public placed bets.
