Brilliantly Surreal Photo Series Floods Chicago

The secret of comedy, they say, is timing.

Even so, we’re not quite so sure the millions of people on the US East Coast currently bracing themselves for one of the biggest storms in the country’s history would appreciate the irony of this awe-inspiring new photo series, flooding Chicago in a way which makes The Day After Tomorrow appear tame.

Imagining just what it would look like if freak weather, lunar and near apocalyptic conditions ever engulfed the Windy City, if you've ever had a dream of the world ending in an aqua-clad nightmare, this is it.

The photographer/editor in question, Swopes, has posted the dramatic shots to her Instagram account where she claims to create all the pictures from her iPhone 6. Amazing.

Roland Emmerich take note.
