Football has a wonderful way of bringing you down to earth, just when you're on top of the world.

German international Christoph Kramer, who played in his country's victorious World Cup Final match just a few months ago, was humbled in a match at the weekend when he scored a sensational 50-yard own goal. He was playing for Borussia Monchengladbach against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga when, under no pressure at all, he lobbed his own goalkeeper to stunning effect.

It turned out to be the winner - ending Monchengladbach's 18-match unbeaten run, and finally finishing Dortmund's 5-game losing streak.

As good as it is, we're not sure it quite merits inclusion in our hall of fame: check out the 10 greatest own goals of all time here.
